I could fly there, but that's cost prohibitive (I think by the time I totalled all that up, I might as well go to Sweden). I also could drive there, because I wanted to go to the pacific northwest anyway. I think that would end up costing the same amount. How do I do that and visit friends in Germany and London? All of the those places I've never been, I don't have a preference for Germany over Oregon. I don't. (Actually, I think the former would be cheaper - I just need a ticket and money for food.)
There are places I want to see - some things to do with work - on the way, but even if I left from Tennessee it's still 35 hours from Oregon. All right, I think I could figure that out.
But then I have to go back. Not only that, I have to drive back from an ISLAND off the west coast, to an ISLAND off the east coast. That's BEYOND coast to coast.
If I'm going to do that I'd also like to throw in a really, really nice full-frame DSLR because I am only doing that once.
Agh. I keep waiting for a solution to come up, and present itself. Like - the midwest disappears.
I'd have to drive back. With either my D70 or 400 rolls of film.

Well you would have a base and a guide(s) in Oregon. I'm sure you would have those in other places as well, but Oregon rules. Also, if you wanted to shadow any of the vets or departments at our clinic, you could do that too.
Try to make it out when it is a tad bit warmer than it is right now though.
I'll bet they have great Nanaimo Bars there. You should go just for that.
